$10 adv / $12 door, Second Class: Qualities of the Heart: with Sufi Zikr

Qualities of the Heart such as wisdom, mastery, magnetism, compassion, depth, and sensitivity are at the center of spiritual growth. The Sufi tradition sees these as qualities of the One that are latent in humans. We will use visualizations and sound practices to stimulate the growth of these qualities within us as well as their manifestation. The evening will close with a generous portion of Sufi zikr.

Poetry Slam

7:30 pm

$7 suggested donation. All are invited to Listen, Read or Judge …or eat or laugh or cry or yell! Starting with Open Mic - Slammers should have 3 poems. Drinks, Snacks and teas are available at the OM TEA BAR. What is a poetry Slam? Its competition poetry; meaning humor, politics, enlightenment, sex, entertainment masquerading as literature, literature masquerading as entertainment. Poets will read, then judges will flash Olympic-style scoring to determine who goes on to the next round until there’s just one poet left standing as the champion. It’s a lot of fun! Website Open

Our website is born (again)! It’s now possible to specify posts as “events” and give a date, time, and duration—this way the little calendar down the left sidebar shows a reddish number for the calendar date (saying that day has an event). “Event Posts” also show a reddish box in the upper left-hand corner to indicate when the event occurs. It’s pretty intuitive. No need to maintain an index page, a detail page, and manage the linking both together. Just post a short description of the event and provide a start and end date/time. Viola!
